Interim Vice-Chancellor

Edge Hill University is based in Ormskirk, Lancashire, founded in 1885 as the first non-denominational teacher training college for women. Today it is a pioneering, people-centred institution offering more than 250 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Faculties of Arts and Sciences, Education, and Health, Social Care and Medicine. The university has more than 15,000 students and employs over 1,600 members of staff, with a strong reputation for teaching excellence, research impact, student experience and a growing knowledge exchange agenda.

The Board of Governors are now appointing an outstanding leader as their interim Vice – Chancellor for at least 9 months to provide stable, values‑driven leadership pending the appointment of a permanent Vice-Chancellor.  As the Interim Vice-Chancellor, you will ensure continuity, maintain momentum on the newly-approved Strategic Plan, Our Connected Futures 2026-31, and lead the institution while the Board appoints a permanent Vice-Chancellor.

The role requires a leader who can uphold and model the University’s values while delivering on key strategic priorities and safeguarding regulatory and financial stability.
