About the role

St James Schools are entering an exciting and transformative moment in their development with the schools moving to will become fully co-educational from this year, marking a significant new chapter in the life of the Schools and creating new opportunities for growth across the community.

To support this next stage, St James Schools are seeking an experienced and creative Head of Marketing to lead the marketing, brand and communications strategy, with particular focus on Olympia currently Senior Girls, Prep and Nursery as it transitions to co-education through school.

This is a pivotal role at a moment of real opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and deliver a clear and compelling marketing strategy that strengthens the Schools’ profile and supports pupil recruitment across all phases.

The role spans the entire St James Schools London community Nursery, Preparatory School, Senior School and Sixth Form ensuring a coherent and consistent approach to how the Schools communicate their distinctive ethos, educational strengths and community values.

A central priority will be shaping and delivering the marketing narrative around the girls schools move to co-education, communicating this development with clarity and confidence while ensuring that the Schools’ heritage, values and educational vision remain at the heart of the message.

The Head of Marketing will lead the development of campaigns and communications that attract prospective families and position St James Schools strongly within the London independent schools landscape. This will include oversight of the Schools’ brand identity, digital platforms, publications, social media, advertising and events programme.

Working closely with admissions colleagues and school leaders, the postholder will ensure that marketing activity supports recruitment across key entry points, while also strengthening engagement with current families, alumni and the wider school community.

We are seeking a marketing professional who combines strategic insight with strong delivery, and who brings creativity, energy and commercial awareness to their work. The successful candidate will be confident working with senior leaders, translating institutional vision into compelling communications that resonate with families and stakeholders.

Terms of appointment

The School is committed to providing a comprehensive range of non-contractual benefits

Meal: Lunch will be provided on your working days in the on-site refectory during School term time.
Discounts: All permanent members of staff who have passed their probationary period may be eligible for School fees discounts. Any discount agreed ends when your employment terminates for whatever reason.
Christmas Closure: All support staff contracted to work during School holidays will receive paid leave during the Christmas period when all School sites are closed. This is in addition to the annual contractual holiday entitlement.
School of Philosophy and Economic Science membership: The Schools will cover the cost of membership fees for the employee to the School of Philosophy and Economic Science.
Life Assurance: All permanent members of staff are covered by life assurance. It is designed to help your dependants in the unfortunate event of your death while employed by us.
