Exciting Interim Opportunity – Lead a New Medical School!

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for medical education? A UK university is seeking an outstanding medical professional and educator to serve as Interim Dean and guide their newly launched Medical School through its next phase.

Having welcomed its first cohort of students this September, the school is at a pivotal moment. With the groundwork laid and GMC approvals secured, the focus now shifts to embedding its identity, fostering strong partnerships, and delivering excellence in education.

• Strategic direction: Provide strategic leadership and shape the school’s narrative and purpose. Embedding an exceptional student experience, fostering a vibrant research culture, and driving an ambitious strategy to ensure the School’s success.
• Partnership development: Strengthen partnerships with key healthcare providers to enhance regional impact.
• High performing teams: Mentor and build a cohesive team, ready to deliver on the demands of a regulated program.
• Visible leadership: Be a visible, inspiring presence for staff, students, and stakeholders.

About You:
We are looking for a highly credible medical professional with a proven track record in education and leadership. You will have a deep understanding of regulated programs and the ability to navigate their complexities with confidence and expertise.

As a proven senior leader with a deep understanding of modern medical education, you will bring a passion for inclusive, high-quality teaching and research, alongside a dynamic, collaborative approach. Your ability to build strong partnerships with NHS trusts, health bodies, and local stakeholders will be key to advancing the School’s impact regionally and nationally.

Reporting to the PVC, you will oversee all aspects of the School’s development, from curriculum delivery to regulatory approvals. You will also play a critical role in driving excellence across teaching, research, and knowledge transfer in biomedical and medical sciences.

As a natural collaborator and relationship-builder, you excel at forging meaningful partnerships with stakeholders, from healthcare providers to academic teams.
