The future of headship: Who will lead our schools in the decade ahead?

Hayley Mintern will be joining a panel at the CST Annual Conference focused on one of the sector’s most pressing challenges – building a strong pipeline of future headteachers.

Chaired by Andrew Thraves, Chair of Trustees at Big Education Trust, fellow panellists include Andrea Mitchell, Principal at Oasis Academy Leesbrook, and Claire Heald, CEO of The CAM Academy Trust.

Together, they’ll explore how the role of headship is changing, the capabilities and attributes future leaders will need, and what can be done to make headship both attractive and sustainable. The discussion will also consider what this means for recruitment, retention and succession planning across the sector.
