From the recent AQ Women in Tech (WiT) survey, members said they’d like to hear more about Non-Executive careers, therefore Helene Usherwood, Anderson Quigley’s Board recruitment lead, will be co-hosting our next AQ WiT event with Fiona Hathorn, CEO at Women on Boards.
This event will be held in partnership with Women on Boards who are a purpose-led business working to increase diversity in executive and non-executive leadership. They are a membership organisation who provide information, encouragement and connections to help women start and shape their board career.

Helene Usherwood – Partner and Non-Executive lead at Anderson Quigley
Helene has over 20 years’ headhunting experience and has appointed to senior roles within the arts, health, and education fields, as well as central and local government. She established Anderson Quigley’s Board Practice, working across all sectors to appoint Chairs and Non-Executive Directors. She has developed an excellent networks across the public and private sectors, encouraging greater levels of diversity around the Boardroom table. She provides bespoke services, advice and guidance to all her clients and candidates, and is highly motivated to provide careers advice and guidance to individuals, especially to those who have not previously considered a Non-Executive opportunity before, but whom have unique insights and skills to offer.
Fiona Hathorn – Co-founder and CEO, Women on Boards UK
Fiona is the CEO of Women on Boards UK alongside advising a number of different boards and organisations. Currently she is an Advisory Panel Member for the FRC (Financial Reporting Council), advisor to Peel Hunt (mid-cap stockbroker) and Chair of Hanx‘s Nominations Committee (FMCG start-up). She is an expert in the areas of Governance, Regulation and Talent Management who has sat on both marketing and audit & finance committees. Fiona was formerly a director for Hill Samuel Asset Management. She has advised the board of the Thai Euro Fund and is a Judge for the Non Executive Director Awards, sponsored by The Sunday Times. In 2020 Fiona joined King’s College London’s ‘Global Institute for Women’s Leadership‘ Advisory Board.
