Members of the Greater Manchester Creative Consortium

Greater Manchester Combined Authority is seeking members for the newly established Greater Manchester Creative Consortium.

Greater Manchester’s creative industries are one of the city-region’s defining strengths. Across its ten districts, creative businesses, cultural organisations, freelancers, practitioners, educators and communities generate economic opportunity, enrich places and contribute to Greater Manchester’s national and international profile.

The Consortium is being established at an important time for the sector. Greater Manchester’s Creative Industries Sector Development Plan sets out an ambition for inclusive, sector-led growth, supported by investment through the Creative Places Growth Fund.

As a strategic advisory body, the Consortium will help turn this ambition into practical action. It will provide insight, constructive challenge, advocacy and recommendations on priorities including skills and talent pathways, business support, innovation, investment readiness, international profile and creative infrastructure. It will also provide an informed sector voice within Greater Manchester’s wider economic, skills, cultural and place-based work.

We welcome applications from people with relevant experience across the creative industries, including screen, music, digital and technology, games, design, fashion, publishing, performing arts, visual arts, culture, heritage and creative education. Members will be expected to represent the interests, opportunities and challenges facing their wider sub-sector or area of expertise, drawing on strong networks and relationships across the creative industries.

Members will attend three Consortium meetings each year, alongside reasonable preparation, engagement and follow-up activity. A Chair and Vice Chair will be selected from the appointed membership.
