Are you an experienced Higher Education marketing leader who can confidently steer a university through one of its most critical student recruitment periods?

Anderson Quigley is supporting a university in the South East with the appointment of an experienced Interim Deputy Director of Marketing for a short-term assignment focused on delivering student recruitment targets through Clearing.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across all student recruitment activity. You will lead the delivery, optimisation and reporting of acquisition and conversion campaigns, ensuring that marketing activity delivers measurable impact during a particularly busy and commercially important period.

You will oversee CRM, performance marketing, media, campaign delivery and faculty marketing teams, ensuring a joined-up approach across the student journey and a consistent institutional brand experience.

Key Deliverables

  • Review and implement an integrated UK student recruitment marketing strategy, maximising late application, conversion and Clearing opportunities.
  • Lead the delivery of high-impact acquisition and conversion campaigns across undergraduate and postgraduate markets.
  • Use data, insight and performance metrics to drive decision-making and continuously improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Deliver innovative, results-driven marketing activity across digital channels.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across marketing functions to maximise campaign performance and return on investment.

About You

To be successful in this assignment, you will bring significant experience within Higher Education marketing and a strong understanding of the student recruitment landscape.

You will have expertise in:

  • CRM strategy and conversion activity
  • Performance marketing and lead generation
  • Student recruitment campaigns
  • Channel optimisation and ROI measurement
  • Data-driven marketing and campaign performance analysis

You will also:

  • Understand how to leverage data, technology and insight to improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Have experience developing and delivering compelling creative campaigns.
  • Be confident working across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organisation.
  • Bring a commercial mindset with a clear focus on measurable outcomes and delivery against targets.
  • Ideally have experience of social media strategy and campaign delivery.
