Interim Head of International Student Recruitment, UK University

Following a wider restructure and with ambitious growth plans ahead, they are looking for an experienced Head of International student recruitment to lead a strategic, targeted and growth-focused approach, particularly across priority markets.

Historically, recruitment activity has been stable and cyclical, without significant pressure on growth or diversification. That is now changing.

The university needs someone who understands the realities of competitive international recruitment markets. Someone who can bring pace, direction and strategic focus, while helping the team build the foundations needed to support significant future growth.

Key priorities will include:

• Strengthening international student recruitment strategy
• Supporting market diversification and growth
• Improving recruitment processes, planning and ways of working
• Embedding stronger use of data and funnel metrics
• Creating a more integrated recruitment approach across the university
• Helping the team better understand the levers that drive recruitment success

This role requires someone who can quickly assess what’s working, challenge legacy thinking where needed, and bring credibility through experience. The institution is looking for someone with genuine international recruitment experience, someone who has operated successfully in complex and competitive environments and can help bring clarity, urgency and momentum to the function.
