Interim Head of Governance, Education, London/Home Counties

Anderson Quigley is currently looking to recruit an interim Head of Governance for a livery company to cover the period between the outgoing Head leaving and the new Head of Governance starting. The role is to begin in March until the end of the academic year. Hybrid role with head office in the City of London. The role will be considered on a part time or full-time basis.

The Head of Governance is responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of governance across all the livery company’s schools and its associated Academies Trust. The role combines strategic governance leadership with hands‑on oversight of systems, people and processes.

The postholder will:

• Lead governance assurance across multiple boards and committees
• Support Chairs and Trustees to operate effectively and confidently
• Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance
• Drive continuous improvement in governance practice
• Lead and develop the clerking function

The interim postholder will have:

• Significant experience in senior school or academy trust governance, charity governance or a closely related environment
• Strong understanding of governance best practice, regulatory requirements and accountability in education settings
• Experience advising Boards, Trustees or Governors at a senior level
• Proven ability to lead or significantly contribute to governance improvement or change

The role attracts a pro rata salary of between £65K and £70K p.a.
