Anderson Quigley is delighted to be supporting GEDU Global Education on the appointment of a Director of PR & Communications, a senior leadership role within the Group’s External Relations function.
Please note, this is a fully on site role, to be based ideally from their East or West London campuses.
About GEDU:
With over 75,000 learners worldwide, GEDU is a leading educational institution with a global footprint and a valuable mission: to break down barriers, and empower non-traditional student demographics to access high quality education through inspiring and practical programmes based on cutting edge education, technology and expertise. Possessing a vision to become a globally respected, trailblazing provider of education, they promote learning as a key driver of socioeconomic progress, whilst maintaining a strong commitment to quality and innovation.
Overview:
GEDU is seeking a highly credible senior PR & Communications leader to shape and lead its external narrative, media engagement and reputation strategy. Reporting to the Managing Director for External Relations and Sustainability, as Director of PR & Communications you will act as a trusted adviser to the leadership team on messaging, reputation management, risk and stakeholder engagement.
This is a strategically important appointment at a time of heightened regulatory, media and public scrutiny of the education sector. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with national and sector media, overseeing crisis, reputation and issues management, and ensuring GEDU’s story is told with integrity, authenticity and impact. The remit will also include oversight of digital communications, social media and content strategy, working closely with UK and offshore teams.
Essential Criteria:
We are looking for a senior PR and Communications leader with demonstrable experience operating in complex, highly regulated and reputationally sensitive environments. You will bring a strong network of journalist and media relationships, excellent judgement and the ability to operate calmly and decisively under pressure.
You may come from within the education sector or from adjacent industries with exposure to education or other similarly scrutinised sectors. Proven experience of crisis communications, reputation and issues management and organisational reputation strategy will be essential.
Next Steps:
Please contact Eva Tomka for a private conversation to discuss further. Please note shortlisting and interviewing will take place on an ongoing basis, so please do get in touch sooner than later.
