Interim Head of Financial Operations, UK University

Anderson Quigley is currently working with a prestigious university who is seeking an experienced senior leader for a six-month interim role as Head of Finance Operations. In this high-impact position, you will lead a large, diverse function of approximately 75 staff across procurement and accounts payable, payroll, pensions, accounts receivable, and finance systems . While we do not expect the successful candidate to have deep experience across every specific team, proven expertise in procurement and finance systems is essential for this role.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that operational activities are delivered efficiently and within regulatory requirements, while also supporting the strategy for long-term system improvements as we look toward a future ERP implementation.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with excellent interpersonal skills who is ready to integrate quickly with the team and drive momentum for key deliverables. Beyond high-level strategic oversight, you should be a proactive problem-solver willing to get involved in the details when necessary to support the team, achieve delivery and maintain service excellence. This role will also work closely with the Director of Finance and the wider Finance Executive Team.
