Date posted:5th January 2026

Anderson Quigley is excited to be supporting De Montfort University (DMU) on the appointment of an Interim Associate Director of Future Students, a critical role with a strong focus on Admissions.

Terms:

This is an initial 6 month interim contract, with a possibility of extension. The role is based in Leicester, with 2–3 days per week expected on site, and a full time working pattern is preferred, although 4 days may be considered for an exceptional candidate. An ASAP start within January/February is strongly preferred.

Overview:

DMU is seeking an experienced interim leader to provide stability, assurance and hands on leadership across its Future Students and Admissions operation during a period of transition. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will lead delivery of a high quality, competitive admissions and recruitment service across both home and international markets.

This is a senior operational role with admissions representing a major institutional priority. You will lead the service through the January intake and UCAS deadline, support delivery for the April international intake, and prepare the organisation for confirmation, clearing and the September recruitment cycle.

You will also oversee a large and complex function spanning admissions, enquiries, schools liaison and widening participation, with a combined team of circa 50–60 colleagues. Working closely with marketing, events, recruitment and international teams, you will ensure alignment of offer strategy, recruitment activity and admissions operations, while also contributing to forthcoming cycles and overseeing key system related projects.

Essential Criteria:

Essential to the success of this interim role is demonstrable experience of leading both home and international admissions at minimum, and ideally also student recruitment within a competitive HE environment, alongside detailed knowledge of admissions systems and UKVI requirements.

Experience limited to student recruitment without admissions leadership will not be sufficient in this instance, so please be aware of this. You must also have the credibility, judgement and resilience to lead large teams through peak periods, manage operational complexity, and operate confidently with senior stakeholders.

Next Steps:

Please contact Eva Tomka or Akhil Yerneni to find out more. Please note that we will respond in the New Year – thank you in advance for your patience.
