Anderson Quigley is delighted to be partnering once again with University Academy 92 (UA92) on the appointment of an Interim Director of People.

Terms:

This is an initial 6 month contract (with the potential to extend), based primarily in Manchester with 2-3 days expected on-site. Part-time / fractional working will be considered (minimum 3 days per week), although full-time would be preferred. An early to mid February start date is highly preferred, with interviews set to take place in late January.

Overview:

UA92 is seeking an experienced and credible interim People leader to provide senior level leadership, direction and assurance across the full People agenda during an important period of organisational delivery and development. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Interim Director of People will lead UA92’s People strategy and function, combining strategic leadership with hands on delivery across HR operations, organisational development, employee relations, EDI and compliance.

This is a highly visible leadership role, requiring a confident operator who can act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, Leadership Team and Board, while ensuring the effective day to day running of the People function. You will oversee workforce planning, organisational capability, talent and succession, reward, policies and systems, while providing expert leadership on complex and sensitive employee relations matters.

Working collaboratively with senior colleagues across the institution, you will help foster an inclusive, values led culture aligned to UA92’s deliberately different mission and approach, while ensuring people practices support institutional performance, engagement and growth.

Essential Criteria:

We are looking for a senior HR/People professional with significant prior experience of operating at Director / Deputy / ‘Head of’ level. For this interim appointment, previous Higher Education sector experience is essential.

Also essential is deep expertise across UK employment legislation, complex employee relations, organisational development and change, alongside a strong understanding of operating in a regulated and values driven environment. A collaborative leadership style, high levels of personal credibility, and the ability to influence confidently at executive and board level are critical.

Next Steps:

Please contact Eva Tomka or Akhil Yerneni to discuss further. Please note that we will respond in the New Year – thank you in advance for your patience.
