Anderson Quigley is partnering with a leading UK university to appoint an Interim Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment, a pivotal role at the heart of the institution’s growth and diversification journey. This six to nine month assignment offers the chance to make a visible, lasting impact while the university moves to appoint a substantive leader.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will inspire and lead a high-performing team to deliver a global, integrated marketing and recruitment strategies that underpin the university’s ambitious student number targets. This is a role for a bold, strategic operator who can blend creativity with rigour, shaping campaigns that cut through a crowded market and energising colleagues to deliver with confidence and pace.

What you’ll deliver

As Interim Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment, you will be expected to quickly establish credibility and deliver impact across a number of critical areas. Over the course of the assignment, your priorities will include:

  • Visible and inspiring leadership: bringing energy and confidence to a talented team, engaging colleagues through change, and strengthening internal networks and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic alignment: playing a key role in shaping and implementing the revised strategy, ensuring that marketing and recruitment activity is clearly connected to the university’s wider priorities.
  • Operational clarity and consistency: designing and delivering an integrated plan for marketing and student recruitment, aligning activity across teams to drive coherence, efficiency and measurable outcomes.
  • Agency onboarding and external partnerships: leading the successful integration of a new media agency and establishing effective partnerships that extend the university’s reach and enhance its reputation.
  • Operating model review: contributing evidence-based insight and practical recommendations to ensure the marketing and recruitment function is structured for long-term success.
