Vice Principal

Lead. Inspire. Transform.

Are you a compassionate but relentless leader with a track record of shifting school culture and improving attendance and engagement?

Duke’s Aldridge Academy is part of Aldridge Education, a medium-sized trust with a strong sense of connection and shared purpose. Located in a dynamic and diverse area of Tottenham, the school is proud to serve a richly multicultural community with all the challenges and opportunities that brings.

At Duke’s, we are at the beginning of an exciting new phase. With solid foundations in place, we are now looking for a Vice Principal to lead on culture, attendance and engagement, to help bring our vision to life.

We are guided by two trust-wide commitments:

  1. Leaving no one behind
  1. Bringing learning to life

These aren’t just slogans, they’re a call to action. Our daily work tackles persistent gaps in attendance, suspensions, and outcomes. We are not afraid of complexity, and we are committed to being part of the solution.

As Vice Principal, you will:

  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Vice Principal will share responsibility for the ethos, management and strategic leadership of the academy. They will also play an active role in developing, sustaining and modelling the skills, attributes and behaviours of a high-performing leadership team.
  • Lead whole-school strategy and implementation around attendance, punctuality, and student engagement
  • Champion a positive, inclusive school culture rooted in high expectations and strong relationships
  • Work closely with students, families and staff to remove barriers to learning and belonging
  • Use data intelligently to drive impact and inform intervention
  • Support staff to create consistency, connection and clarity across the school day
  • Play a key role in our senior leadership team, helping to shape whole-school improvement with integrity and courage

Aldridge Education is looking for someone who:

  • Has proven success in improving attendance and reducing exclusions
  • Can shift mindsets and embed culture change at all levels
  • Leads with authenticity, compassion and strategic clarity
  • Thrives in challenging contexts and believes all young people can succeed
  • Models excellence, consistency and a deep commitment to equity

This is a pivotal time for Duke’s. As we build a cohesive senior leadership team, you will be joining a committed group of practitioners ready to move forward together. You’ll have the chance to shape school culture, not just maintain it, and to be part of a trust that walks the walk on equity, community and collaboration.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Strong peer collaboration across the Aldridge Education Trust
  • High-quality professional development and leadership coaching through our Growing Together offer and our partnership with Teach First
  • A genuine opportunity to make a lasting difference in a community that needs – and deserves – the very best

Ready to step up and lead the change?

If you’re excited by the idea of transforming lives through culture, connection and belonging, then we want to hear from you.
