We’re supporting a UK university as it embarks on the next phase of transformation across its campus operations. As Interim Director of Campus Services, you’ll step into a key leadership role during a period of significant change, shaping how the university delivers its estate based services while ensuring a consistently high quality experience for students, staff, and visitors.
This is more than a steady pair of hands, the university is looking for a confident and commercial leader who can bring structure, settle teams, and help reshape how services are delivered.
Key priorities for the interim period include:
People leadership: Bring stability, focus, and energy to a newly structured team, embedding a culture of service excellence and high performance across diverse operational functions.
Outsourcing and procurement: The catering function has just been outsourced, and attention is now turning to other areas, including housekeeping, FM, and maintenance. You’ll lead the assessment and tendering processes with clarity and confidence.
Commercial thinking: Work closely with senior colleagues to review the financial viability of all estate related operations, from the sports centre to student accommodation, identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and revenue generation.
You’ll oversee a broad portfolio, including estates and facilities management, cleaning, security, accommodation, catering, events, and sustainability. Working at both strategic and operational levels, you’ll ensure seamless delivery while influencing longer-term direction.
You will bring:
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of campus services and make a visible impact during a pivotal period. We welcome applications from outside of the Higher Education sector. Please send your CV to claire.lauder@andersonquigley.com
