Anderson Quigley is urgently seeking an immediately available Director or Deputy Director-level Estates and Facilities professional for a 6 month assignment with a UK university.

Practicalities:

Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of 2-3 days per week on site. Full-time is preferred, though 4 days per week will be considered. This can be remunerated on an outside IR35 day-rate basis, with an immediate or ASAP start.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will bring strong experience across hard and soft FM, supporting a diverse, high-impact estates portfolio. Priorities include:

  • Supporting the catering contract tender, contributing to the CAFM business case and leading implementation post-approval, and further developing the university’s existing Digital Twin system.
  • Supporting the estates masterplan, attending key meetings, engaging stakeholders, preparing business case papers, managing small capital projects, and helping to develop a revised, sustainability-focused grounds contract specification.
  • Contributing to internal departmental discovery work and reviewing estates maintenance workflows through a LEAN lens to identify efficiency gains, and providing expert consultancy and feedback to the Director and wider leadership team, as well as broader estates and facilities support where needed.

Next Steps:

This will suit a capable, pragmatic all-rounder with a proven track record in estates leadership (Director or Deputy Director level), capital delivery, and operational improvement. You will be confident managing competing priorities, engaging senior stakeholders, and delivering in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Higher education experience is desirable, though candidates from similarly complex environments – such as the NHS or Government – will be equally considered.
