Head of Academic Support, Private Higher Education Provider
Anderson Quigley is delighted to be working with a Private Higher Education provider who are looking to appoint a Head of Academic Support.
The focus of this role is to lead and strengthen our pastoral and academic support provision for students. This is a key role in aligning consistent advice and guidance across academic functions and student services to ensure students succeed, and that our support model is consistent, effective, and joined-up across the College.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and coordinating the operation and continuous improvement of student academic support and development, as well as acting as a point of reference, advice, and guidance for all ASOs/PATs.
- Designing and delivering an induction programme for new ASOs/PATs, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and the support framework.
- Organising regular refresher training and best-practice sharing sessions for all ASOs/PATs.
- Monitoring and enhancing the effectiveness of the ASO/PAT model, using feedback, engagement data, and student performance metrics.
Person Specification
- Experience in academic or student support in higher education
- A good understanding of quality assurance and regulatory requirements (such as OfS)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues across different teams
- A practical, student focused approach and a commitment to getting things done
