Anderson Quigley is delighted to once again partner with the London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) to recruit an Interim Academic Dean for the Faculty of Social Sciences on a 12-month maternity cover contract, starting in June or July 2025.
Who is LCCA?
The London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA), based in central London, offers accessible, career-focused undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fashion, graphic design, business management and hospitality. A dynamic, modern institution, LCCA delivers academically rigorous education through a student-centred learning and teaching approach that is progressive, innovative and tailored to the needs of today’s learners.
Overview of the Role:
Reporting to the Principal, the Interim Academic Dean for Social Sciences will lead a team of c.30 staff, including Course Directors, Subject Leads and Hourly Paid Lecturers. You will oversee the delivery and development of Business and Hospitality Management programmes, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence and student success.
As Dean, you will hold both academic and administrative responsibility for the provision. You will oversee academic delivery across two central London campuses – Tower Hill and Aldgate – and play a key role in the College’s ambitious multi-campus expansion, with new sites on the horizon and student numbers expected to grow from c.9,000 to c.12,000.
We are seeking a proactive and visionary leader – not simply a caretaker. This is a genuine opportunity to drive academic quality, champion teaching excellence, support growth and make a lasting impact on LCCA during the 12-month term.
Essential Criteria:
The ideal candidate will have substantial academic leadership experience, having held roles such as Deputy Dean, Head or Deputy Head of School, or Head of Programmes. You will have a strong academic background in Business, Management, Tourism, Hospitality or a related discipline, along with a proven ability to improve student outcomes and lead high-performing academic teams.
Experience within widening participation contexts is highly desirable, and equally important is a demonstrable track record of developing and enhancing academic processes, programmes and staff. We are seeking a flexible, collaborative leader who can work effectively across diverse teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Next Steps:
Please get in touch with Eva Tomka or Akhil Yerneni ASAP to discuss further.
