UCC Library plays a key role in supporting teaching, learning, and research. Aligned with UCC’s 2023–2028 Strategic Plan, Securing our Future, the Library is undergoing an exciting transformation. We are now seeking a Head of Content Services to lead the unification of teams across collection development, resource management, and content services, with a focus on delivering a ‘digital preferred approach’ and supporting the Library’s evolving strategic vision.
In this senior leadership role, you will manage approximately 20 staff, including four direct reports, and oversee a €1.6m budget. You will drive the transformation of services across book buying, cataloguing, digital systems, and physical collections. Your leadership will be essential in optimising collections, improving workflows, and implementing a new library services platform to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams through change, with expertise in scholarly communication, resource management, and academic publishing. You will bring strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and empower staff through transformation. Experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and solving complex problems is essential.
