We’re looking for a seasoned, values-led Interim Chief People Officer to step into a pivotal leadership role at a dynamic point in this university’s journey.

Working alongside the Vice-Chancellor and Executive Board, you’ll bring strategic HR firepower and calm, credible leadership to a thriving the People function. With the people strategy and KPIs signed off, you’ll keep delivery on track, partner closely with the HRD, and lead the broader People directorate with their strategic direction.

This is more than a holding brief — it’s a hands-on opportunity to shape the future operating model, drive culture-led transformation, and foster a truly great place to work.

Key priorities include:

  • Championing a high-performance culture through organisational change
  • Leading and shaping the Target Operating Model (TOM) review
  • Enhancing the employee experience from values to performance management
  • Reviewing people policies with a strategic, forward-looking lens

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has strategic HR leadership experience in large, complex environments (Higher Education is a bonus)
  • Understands how to lead cultural change and operating model redesign with nuance
  • Brings calm authority, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative approach
  • Can influence at the highest levels and act as a trusted advisor across the organisation
