Please note that this role requires fully on-site working, from any of their campuses in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Leeds.

Who is GBS?

With over 40,000 students and 3 intakes per year, GBS is a leading educational institution and a gateway to diverse, industry-focused education. Operating across ten vibrant UK campuses, GBS offers vocational, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in skills gap based disciplines. Overview:

We are looking for candidates with HE leadership experience in the field of construction management, quantity surveying or a closely related subject, to provide leadership to GBS as an Associate Dean.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership and oversight for the successful delivery of university-awarded construction management programmes across GBS campuses. This role is pivotal in ensuring an exceptional student learning experience by managing academic teams, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and fostering strong relationships with the awarding university. Key responsibilities include enhancing teaching and assessment practices, ensuring compliance with university regulations, and driving student success in retention, progression, and achievement.

Essential Criteria:

Essential to the role is a master’s degree and a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject, such as construction management or quantity surveying. An ideal candidate will have experience in HE programme management, working in partnership with universities and higher education organisations, and implementing internal and external quality assurance processes, including compliance with QAA and Office for Students regulations. A recognised teaching qualification, such as Advance HE accreditation, is also required. You may have current or previous HE leadership experience as Head of School, Deputy Head of School or Programme Director level (all gained within a discipline such as Construction Management or Quantity Surveying).
