Anderson Quigley is delighted to continue our partnership with De Montfort University, this time on the search for an Interim Head of Change Communications to support a key period of institution wide change.

Practicalities:

This is a 12-month contract, ideally starting immediately/ASAP or with up to one month’s notice. We would prefer a salary-based fixed-term contract but may consider a daily rate for an exceptional candidate. The role is ideally full-time, though 0.8 FTE will be considered. Hybrid working is available, with at least two days per week on campus in Leicester.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Change Communications to lead a complex transformation programme within the University. Working closely with the senior leadership team and various departments, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering change communications that ensure stakeholders are informed, engaged, and aligned with the institution’s vision. This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful communication strategies in a dynamic and changing HE environment. As multiple transformation programmes unfold, you will craft and deliver key messages, ensuring clear, effective communication that resonates across the university.

Your work will be instrumental in shaping the future of the university, ensuring staff remain informed, engaged, and empowered throughout the change process. In this role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive change communications strategy, provide expert guidance to senior leaders, and collaborate with teams across the organisation. You will also engage with staff to foster transparency and create tailored communications for diverse audiences.

Essential Criteria:

We are looking for an interim communications leader with a strong background specifically in change communications, ideally gained within the higher education sector.

You will possess a track record of delivering strategic communication plans and engaging with senior stakeholders. Your ability to navigate organisational complexities and clearly communicate transformation initiatives will be critical to your success. Key skills include significant experience in change communications, senior stakeholder engagement, and project management. You should have the ability to influence at all levels of stakeholders with sensitivity and diplomacy, whilst managing a portfolio of simultaneous projects.
