Why Wolverhampton?

The University of Wolverhampton is a dynamic and forward-thinking institution, committed to excellence in education, research, and student experience.

The origins of the University go back nearly 200 years when it was established as a Tradesmen’s and Mechanics’ Institute in 1827. These roots continue to shape its mission, character, courses, research, knowledge exchange, and role as an anchor institution. Wolverhampton is a university proudly rooted in its local and regional community, offering opportunity to all regardless of background, ensuring access to life-changing education.

According to the latest Graduate Outcomes Survey, 88% of graduates are in work or education 15 months after graduation, with 76% employed in the West Midlands region—demonstrating social mobility in action and the University’s tremendous impact on the local and regional economy.
