Your leadership will ensure the successful implementation of high-profile programmes, including large ERP and Data Warehouse projects and the IT Merger Programme, while embedding robust governance and financial management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the establishment and growth of the IT PMO, ensuring the effective governance and management of IT projects and programmes.
  • Provide assurance and strategic oversight for major IT initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Develop and implement a 5-year roadmap for IT change, aligning with the university’s strategic objectives.
  • Drive transformational change across the organisation, enhancing the effectiveness of digital and technology services.

About You

We are looking for an inspirational and people-focused leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale technology and digital transformation programmes within complex organisations. Our ideal candidate has empathetic leadership skills, with the ability to take people on a journey of change, mentoring and motivating their team to ensure delivery of key projects.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience leading IT project, programme, and portfolio delivery functions at a senior level.
  • Strong financial and strategic planning skills, ensuring cost-effective and efficient project execution.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing project management frameworks within IT, applying methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and APM.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Experience in developing a high-performing IT PMO, enhancing portfolio management maturity within a large IT function.
  • Higher education sector experience is advantageous, though not essential.

As a key member of the IT Leadership Team, you will collaborate with like-minded professionals who are passionate about using technology to enhance services for staff and students. They are a team that values innovation, teamwork, and a shared commitment to delivering outstanding digital and technology services.
