Anderson Quigley is delighted to take to market a fantastic consultancy opportunity. Our new client, a very well established international education group with over 300,000 students worldwide, is looking for an experienced ‘UK Market Entry’ Higher Education Consultant to guide them through the intricacies of regulatory, accreditation, and strategic requirements, to ensure a compliant and successful entry into the UK.

Overview:

This consultancy role will involve close collaboration with the group’s executive leadership team, to develop a comprehensive plan, preparing the company for a UK market entry (as a non-degree-awarding provider). The consultant will need to provide strategic and operationally grounded advice on the UK Higher Education regulatory system and how a successful entry to the UK market should be planned and executed. The consultant should also demonstrate deep understanding of related licensing requirements and routes to securing university accreditation via partnership.

Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, the consultant will dive into the complexities of the UK higher education regulatory landscape, analysing essential timelines, processes, and specific requirements for foreign ownership. Your expertise will guide the institution through crucial accreditation and licensing pathways, helping them to understand any potential needs for licence upgrades and regulatory nuances from non-UK ownership.

Beyond regulatory analysis, you will lead a full demand and competitor assessment, examining current enrolment trends, tuition fee structures, and key competitors. You will identify the most promising locations for the institution’s UK launch, ensuring their entry is both strategically positioned and supported by robust market insights.

Essential Criteria:

The ideal consultant will bring deep expertise in UK HE regulations, particularly with private institutions or non-awarding bodies making their UK debut. You’ll have a proven track record of competitor and demand analyses, as well as a strong grasp of UK licensing and accreditation processes, including foreign ownership guidelines.

Crucially, we are looking for a highly experienced HE consultant, so this will not be your first time embarking on this type of exercise. You will likely draw on your expertise from a previous executive or leadership role in higher education, where you were deeply engaged in establishing, validating and running similar educational partnerships.
