Anderson Quigley is delighted to continue our interim leadership recruitment campaign for Bournemouth University, with the search for an Interim Head of International Student Recruitment & Marketing.
Practicalities:
This is a 6-9 month contract, offered on an FTC salaried basis, with an immediate or ASAP start, although a December start could be accommodated. Full-time is preferred, but 0.8 FTE may be considered. Hybrid working with c.2 days per week on-site in Poole will be required (travel/accommodation support may be considered).
Overview:
As Interim Head of International Student Recruitment & Marketing, you will lead Bournemouth University in driving student recruitment growth in key global markets. This role is central to implementing innovative strategies, with a focus on PG recruitment in high-priority regions like China, India, and Nigeria, as well as emerging markets such as the Middle East, North America and Pakistan. As a change-oriented leader, you will manage and upskill a capable team, fostering a forward-thinking, globally engaged approach to student recruitment.
By nurturing a collaborative team culture, you will introduce fresh perspectives and advise on streamlined structures. With your experience in managing in-country teams, understanding global recruitment dynamics and targeted digital channels, you will boost regional capabilities and expand BU’s reach globally. Key interim duties also include developing in-country representation, overseeing agent coordination, and promoting year-round intake diversification, with a focus on delivering strong international growth.
Essential Criteria:
The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience within HE international student recruitment and a track record of delivering strong growth. You must have an excellent grasp of international market trends and competitor analysis, supported by experience in developing international partnerships that result in optimised student recruitment results. Your background should include direct in-country experience in the key regions mentioned and a history of overseeing complex recruitment operations. Familiarity with pathway management and CRM systems is also essential.
The ability to inspire and lead the student recruitment team within an increasingly competitive market, excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, and a commitment to BU’s global ambitions are also key.
