Anderson Quigley is delighted to be partnering with an ambitious and growing Multi-Academy Trust based in Birmingham, with six schools across both primary and secondary education across the Midlands and London.

Each year, they have successfully acquired an additional school, with exciting plans to continue to expand their portfolio.

The Role:

They are seeking a commercially-focused Trust Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Trust Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Trust delivers best value for money and operates efficiently across all schools. You will be responsible for reviewing management accounts, conducting financial analysis, and recommending cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial reviews of the Trust’s management accounts to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Propose and implement strategies for maximising value through more efficient procurement processes, including identifying new suppliers and grants.
  • Oversee tendering processes for key outsourced services such as catering, IT, and facilities management, ensuring contracts are benchmarked.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of existing contracts (e.g., cleaning services) to assess their financial efficiency, exploring options such as bringing services in-house where appropriate.
  • Provide insights into spending patterns, particularly around shared regional services (e.g., between Birmingham and Wolverhampton), to drive economies of scale.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, proactive finance professional with a strong commercial mindset, capable of driving value and efficiencies across a growing MAT. You’ll be confident in analysing complex financial data and proposing solutions to ensure the Trust operates at its best.

Essential requirement will be proven experience in a similar finance role, within a primary and/or secondary school.
