Anderson Quigley is delighted to showcase a fantastic new role with Cambridge Education Group (CEG): An Interim Head / Deputy Director / Associate Director of Estates and Facilities.

Practicalities:

This is a 12 month FTC, ideally on an salaried basis but we may be able to consider a day-rate. Immediate/ASAP start date preferred but early December could be accommodated at the latest. Full-time or part-time at 3/4 days considered. Hybrid working of 2-3 days per week on-site in London, Cambridge and other national and international sites (Europe). Travel and accommodation can be fully expensed.

Overview:

As the Interim Head of Estates and Facilities, you will take charge of managing estates, health and safety, and facilities across multiple sites, both in the UK and internationally. Over 12 months, you will oversee major developments in London, as well as new site setups in Paris and Dublin, leading these projects from site identification to overseeing fit-outs, and working closely with contractors to ensure smooth operations. You will also manage the ongoing reactive and planned maintenance needs of existing staff and student centres in the UK.

Key to the role will be hands-on leadership in managing the upkeep of facilities, space planning, health and safety, and ensuring all physical sites meet regulatory standards. You will manage budgets related to estates and facilities, delivering cost-effective solutions and reporting regularly to senior management on financial and operational performance. You will also work closely with university partners and internal teams to ensure that the facilities strategy supports broader educational goals.

Essential Criteria:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing estates across multiple sites, gained within the education sector. A strong background in health and safety, ensuring policies and procedures are up-to-date and adhered to is essential. Experience managing large-scale projects from site identification to full fit-out is key, along with coordinating contractors and overseeing new developments.

Strong financial management skills are required, including budget oversight, cost control, and value for money. Handling both proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring facilities are maintained to high standards, a focus on environmental sustainability, and the ability to collaborate with university partners, senior management, and site teams is crucial.

The closing date for this role is 12pm on Thursday 17th October.
