Aston University is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the Director of Estates and Capital Development. Reporting to the COO, this pivotal role requires an individual with a proven track record in strategic leadership and operational management of estates, who will ensure our campus infrastructure is developed to align with the ambitions set out in the Aston 2030 Strategy and delivers exceptional student, staff and stakeholder experience.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of estates development and management and be able to create and implement long-term strategies that align with the University’s vision and academic priorities.

You should have experience in managing diverse teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence underpinned by effective programme delivery and collaboration. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will advise senior leadership on estate-related matters and lead effective collaboration between various university departments.

You will need a comprehensive knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental stewardship, integrating these principles into all planning and development initiatives. Your experience should include overseeing capital development projects and ensuring compliance with legal, health, and safety standards while delivering results on time and within budget.

Proficiency in budget and resource management is vital, as you will be responsible for developing and managing revenue and capital budgets in alignment with the University’s financial targets.
