Anderson Quigley is delighted to once again partner with De Montfort University on the appointment of an Interim Head of DMU Education Academy; a newly created, integral leadership position. Practical terms as follows: Initial 5-6 month FTC, hybrid working of 2-3 days per week, full-time or 0.8 FTE / 4 days per week considered, competitive FTC salary of up to 6 figures, ideal start date of ASAP after Easter or within 1 month maximum, and interview dates proposed for W/C 8th or 15th April.

Overview:

Reporting directly to the PVC Education and Equalities, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping DMU’s newly established Academy, orchestrating a seamless transition, assembling a dynamic team, and innovating non-accredited CPD programmes that champion progression and inclusivity. Your role extends beyond mere leadership – you’ll be a driving force behind strategic initiatives to elevate teaching and learning metrics, and fostering a culture of continual improvement rooted in data insights. Collaborating with stakeholders, pioneering evaluation practices, and representing the university on global platforms will be at the heart of your mission. Essential Criteria:

To be a strong candidate, you will ideally possess a post-graduate teaching qualification within HE, be a PFHEA, and possess a Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in academic enhancement. Essential criteria includes having a significant record of senior leadership in enhancing teaching and learning at a university level and extensive understanding of pedagogic practice. Also essential is proven senior experience in implementing teaching initiatives that enhance the student and staff experience, drawing on data-informed approaches. A sound understanding of quality assurance and regulatory compliance in higher education, and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity, along with fostering collaborative pan-university relationships completes the profile of the ideal candidate.
