We are looking to speak to strategic, customer-centric Service Delivery leaders who will join the new CIOs Leadership team as the most senior front-facing service IT leader.

Why would you want to work at the LSE?

The LSE is one of the foremost social science universities in the world and are ranked the top university in London by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, Guardian Best UK Universities Guide 2024 and, for the 12th year running, by the Complete University Guide 2024. LSE are proud to count 18 Nobel Prize winners amongst their staff and former students, and over 40 world leaders have either studied or taught there.

It is also a fantastic, supportive, and exciting place to work, with colleagues at the forefront of their disciplines who are engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference.  The DTS team has renewed focus in the Service Delivery area and this role will join, lead, and help support a team of excellent IT professionals to do their best work, well supported by the right tools and technologies.  You will join a high performing and collegiate DTS Leadership team and have the immediate support of the CIO, your peers and the organisation to make a difference.

What are they looking for?

Leading the institution’s End User Computing and Desktop/Laptop support, Audio Visual, Service Desk, Support, ITSM and Service Line functions, and operating as the LSE’s foremost expert on service delivery frameworks such as ITSM and ESM, the LSE is looking for an established and experienced leader with a track record of delivering exceptional support and services, with a strong understanding of what the art of the possible and excellence looks like in service and technology delivery, and an understanding of how to tailor frameworks and delivery for an institution such as the LSE.

To succeed in the role the postholder will have driven service excellence in a complex, multi-faceted and consultative environment, driving an efficient and exceptional service delivery and a modernity of technology and technology delivery approach that meets the needs of its various stakeholders.  To do so they will be an exceptional people leader, able to get the best out of their team, a deft influencer with strong empathy and political awareness, and be passionate about what technology can achieve, contributing towards IT and institutional strategy and helping building enthusiasm and foundational capability for the future.

The LSE offers an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working and excellent training and development opportunities.

As an equal opportunities employer, they welcome applications from Women and Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. All appointments will be made on merit or skill and experience relative to the role.
