Anderson Quigley is delighted to continue our campaign of leadership appointments on behalf of GBS (part of GEDU Global Education), this time on the appointment of a Generalist Dean to work cross-institution on special projects with the Provost. This is a fully on-site role based at either London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Leeds campuses. On offer is a package of £90-95k plus annual bonuses.
Who is GBS?
With over 25,000 students, GBS is a leading educational institution offering diverse, industry-focused education across nine campuses in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds. GBS provides vocational, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in finance, accounting, business, tourism, healthcare, and more. Their mission is to enhance students’ career prospects through strong employer connections and personalised guidance.
GBS is driven by a vision to transform communities and expand access to education. They champion inclusivity and strive to provide opportunities for underrepresented groups, breaking down barriers and empowering non-traditional students with high-quality education. GBS promotes learning as a key driver of socioeconomic progress, maintaining a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and lifelong learning.
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dean to lead and manage GBS’ academic operations and special projects, and to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction at institution level. The Generalist Dean will oversee the institution’s academic performance, build strong networks within GBS and with partner institutions, while addressing the operational challenges of providing high-quality education to a diverse and underrepresented student body. Reporting directly to the Provost and collaborating with senior colleagues, you will maintain and enhance the quality of academic programmes, manage faculty resources, and contribute to the broader leadership and governance of GBS.
Essential Criteria:
We are open to interest from senior HE academic leaders from any subject background. You may currently be operating as a Head of School / Head of Department / Associate Dean / Deputy Dean, and are leading a school or faculty of 2000+ students. Ideally, this experience would be within learning and teaching focused, post-92 universities or HEIs. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior academic leadership role within a dynamic, student-focused environment that is fast paced and commercial, yet committed to high quality provision.
