Finance Director

Welcome to Escape Studios! We are currently searching for a talented Finance Director to help shape our financial future, in alignment with our new strategy and ambitious growth plans.

Established in 2002, Escape Studios is a leading animation, games, and VFX school, renowned for molding raw talent into industry-ready professionals. Partnered with key industry players like Industrial Light & Magic and Epic Games, we’ve achieved global recognition for our excellence in immersive media production, ranking number one by The Rookies and in the top 6% for graduate employability.

Tell me more about the role:

As our new Finance Director, your dynamic leadership will be pivotal for ensuring effective financial management and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. Your responsibilities will extend beyond strategic planning; you’ll also spearhead the transition to new, in-house systems, driving innovation during our post-acquisition phase in 2023.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, your role will involve shaping Escape’s financial vision. This encompasses senior finance management, control frameworks, annual budget planning, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting.

Your ability to inspire confidence, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and promote inclusivity will also be crucial.

Qualified accountants (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) with leadership and senior financial control or management experience, particularly within higher education, adjacent or related creative industries would be of strong interest to us. Experience with small teams, technology leverage, and innovative solutions would also be advantageous.
