Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for driving transformative change in the higher education landscape? We’re on the lookout for an outstanding Interim HR Consultant to play a pivotal role in shaping the People agenda at a university in the Midlands.
This university believes in the power of fostering an inclusive, diverse, and growth-oriented environment. As an Interim HR Consultant, you’ll collaborate closely with the Deputy Director of HR to lead key initiatives that will define the university’s commitment to attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent.
Here are some of the key projects that we want the successful candidate to lead on:
Attract & retain talent: Drive the implementation of a robust Workforce Planning process, ensuring proactive delivery of future staffing needs and talent opportunities across Academic and Professional Services Divisions.
Inclusive & diverse workforce: Champion and embed the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) action plan.
Personal growth & career development: Define expectations and competencies for the university’s middle management population. Conduct a comprehensive review and provide recommendations for a new/refreshed talent and appraisal process, including a performance management framework.
Wellbeing & personal health: Lead the launch of the Health & Wellbeing Strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and gaining widespread approval.
Employee voice & partnership: Evaluate current employee voice mechanisms and propose innovative channels or mechanisms for employees’ voices to be heard and acted upon. Develop and implement initiatives such as Innovation and recognition schemes to enhance employee engagement.

We are looking to speak to candidates who can showcase experience in developing and delivering successful reward strategies, coupled with a proven track record of leadership and driving organisational change.
The successful candidate will work closing with the Deputy Director of HR and contribute to shaping the future of the university’s talent landscape. You will use your expertise to deliver groundbreaking projects that will strengthen the universities employer brand and ensure the recruitment, retention, and reward of top-tier talent.
