The Associate Director of Communications will work closely with the Vice Chancellor, Chief Transformation Officer, and the University Leadership Team to develop and deliver an exceptional institution wide communications strategy and offers a significant opportunity to drive change and make positive impact.
The Marketing and Communications team at DMU is growing, and this newly created role will be a member of the Directorate’s senior leadership team, playing a key role in contributing to the corporate leadership of the University and its strategic direction and ensuring that the University is able to deliver its ambitious Empowering University strategy.
What we are looking for:
You will take a lead role in managing the profile of the university, managing its reputation, furthering its influence within the sector and across stakeholder groups, and ensuring a media profile in line with the strategic objectives. As Associate Director of Communications, you will also lead both staff and student-facing internal communications, playing a key role in cultural change, engagement, and supporting the institutional transformation outlined in the “Empowering University” strategy.
To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrable track record of leading strategic communications to influence a wide range of audiences, gained within large scale, complex, publicly regulated organisations. With a proven ability to influence and persuade at all levels within an organisation, you will have sound knowledge of communications strategies, concepts and practices an excellent track record of achievement across a wide range of communications projects and campaigns.
