Head of Planning and Policy - Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd

Anderson Quigley is looking to find Cardiff University’s new Head of Planning and Policy. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Head of Planning to bring their institutional knowledge and a fresh perspective to Cardiff, or an equally wonderful opportunity for a senior planning manager to take the step up to a strategic leadership position, at one of the UK’s largest and most well reputed universities.

Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning, the Head of Planning and Policy is a high-profile role, university-wide in reach, and will require high-level engagement and influencing skills, a tenacious but pragmatic and flexible approach, and a natural curiosity and ability to understand complex issues and develop strategic solutions.

Experience Required:

As Head of Planning and Policy, you will be responsible for designing and delivering the University’s Integrated Planning Process and will lead on horizon-scanning and HE policy and funding analysis. You will work closely with senior leaders and managers across the University, bringing your expertise to bear in facilitating, advising, and guiding the outcomes of decision-making. You will also lead a team of Planning Advisors in providing a ‘go-to’ service that is proactive, flexible, and knowledgeable in its support of a broad range of strategic development activities and will be required to deputise for the Director of Strategic Planning on a regular basis.

Therefore, this role would suit someone who has prior experience of planning and strategy development within a university, and who is looking to broaden and deepen their experience and influence in delivering strategic change, at an institution facing, leadership level.
