Interim Director of Health and Safety, Large UK University

Anderson Quigley is delighted to be working with a large UK University on the appointment of an Interim Director of Health and Safety for a 6-month FTC. This position is required to start ASAP or with 1 months’ notice at the latest.

This will involve a mixture of leadership and management of the existing team, but also an opportunity for business diagnosis, review of current operating model, and current and future resourcing needs, culminating in the drafting of a report to guide the university towards a higher performing and more fit for purpose H&S department.

Scale of experience is particularly important; therefore it is essential that the interim Director of H&S brings significant experience of working for a large university or large public sector organisation in a suitably senior leadership position within Health and Safety (very likely at Director level, and having led teams of c.30). Also essential, of course, is the ability to start immediately or within 1 months’ notice.
