Anderson Quigley is delighted to be partnering with an Alternative Provider of Higher Education on the permanent appointment of an Academic Dean for their rapidly growing Business School (c.4000 students and 125 staff). This will require c.2 days per week of on-site presence in London.

Overview:

With a 93% satisfaction rating in the 2022 NSS and a student centric offering that promotes continual learning, personal development, innovation and online delivery, this is a fantastic opportunity to take leadership of an established and sizeable business school, and to grow their capability and offering even further.

As Dean of the Business School, you will be responsible for developing the School’s academic reputation and providing an outstanding experience for students and staff. Specific duties include providing strategic management, assuring the performance of the School against local operational targets, leading academic and curriculum development, managing the School’s budget, planning and resourcing, and representing the school in external environments.

Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background
within the specific disciplines of business and management education (or a cognate discipline) and possess substantial experience in senior leadership and management within higher education. This may have been gained at Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Director or Associate Dean level within a similarly sized business school at a post-92 university or similar Private/Alternative Provider environment.

Above all, the ability to lead by example and to flex between operational and strategic responsibilities is a must, given the context of a fast growing and professionalising department with validated partnerships to steward and ambitions to gain TDAP.
