This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Accelerate Action” emphasizing the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality; a worldwide call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and activity that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
One way that we can support quicker action is by encouraging younger generations to understand the amazing opportunities that are available to them, and help inspire them to do great things. This mirrors the values of the AQ WiT group, and why we are delighted to be able to partner with Tech She Can, a charity that inspires and educates all children, but especially girls and women to study technology subjects and pursue technology careers so that they have an equal opportunity to participate in the jobs of the future.
We have invited Becky Patel, Head of Education and Learning at Tech She Can, to join us to introduce the charity, the impact they make, and ways that we can support them both as individuals and as a group in the future.
This will be the start of what we hope will be a partnership with Tech She Can; we hope to organise a group volunteering session with our AQ WiT members to help inspire girls to be tech leaders of the future! We would love this group to become more than a professional networking group and to support taking action for a cause close to our hearts.
