The intention is to create a trusted, informal space for those about to start or in the early stages of the role to connect with peers, share experiences, and begin to build a supportive cohort; we’re keeping the group intentionally small to allow for a candid and high-quality discussion.
The session will operate on a confidential, peer-to-peer basis, and the format is deliberately conversational rather than formal, with a focus on open discussion and shared learning. The agenda will include:
- A facilitated discussion on governance review, led by Helene Usherwood (AQ Partner), drawing on her extensive experience advising governing bodies and executive teams
- A shared learning session on EDI, focusing on how VCs are approaching this agenda in practice, including challenges and what is proving effective
- Time over lunch for informal peer exchange and reflection on the first months in role
- A focused session on legal aspects of governance, led by by Nikola Southern (Partner, Kingsley Napley LLP).
