Alasdair Redwood joins AQ

We are thrilled to have Alasdair Redwood  join Anderson Quigley as a Researcher where he will support our Schools and Trusts team as we continue to partner with Independent schools, multi academy trusts and international schools to provide outstanding leaders and innovators in education.

As part of Alasdair’s onboarding process, we caught up with him to ask a few questions about his background and future plans.

What is your background?

I started my career in Search working for a boutique consultancy primarily focussed on the higher education, cultural, charity and allied sectors. I supported clients on the appointments of senior leaders across professional services, academic, and non-executive roles. I love working with organisations that have a social mission as a core part of their identity, and I am excited to be continuing this at AQ. Beyond Search, I have just taken up a Trustee role on the Board of an independent museum in Cambridgeshire.

What inspired you to join Anderson Quigley?

Through my work in the sector, I was aware of AQ’s brand and growing team. I had seen some superb appointments by the team and knew that there were some incredible people within the AQ team. I had also heard positive things about AQ from both clients and candidates. The thorough research and leading client and candidate care were frequently brought up and are both elements that are extremely important to me.

Everyone I spoke to at AQ throughout the process stressed the collaborative nature and non-hierarchical approach, and this definitely made me want to be part of the AQ team. The opportunity to work with Hayley Mintern and continue to build a growing practice, was also an obvious draw! Hayley and Paul Horgan have done a fantastic job in building up the schools practice, and it’s an exciting time for me to get stuck in and develop professionally.

What will your focus be at AQ?

My focus will be on supporting schools, multi academy trusts, and independent schools. I will be working closely with Hayley Mintern to conduct Research and support and advise clients on critical appointments. Hayley has done a fantastic job in building the practice and it’s a really exciting time to be joining AQ. I will be helping her continue to expand the work and do more both here in the UK and internationally.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I can be found visiting museums or reading (currently Dan Jones). Recently, I have also begun painting miniature models. I was never particularly good at art (and I’m probably still not in all honesty!), but I do find the process surprisingly relaxing.
