Chief Commercial Officer
AbilityNet Remote | Permanent | Full-time, 35 hours per week Attractive salary
AbilityNet is a pioneering UK charity with a clear and powerful mission: to create a digital world accessible to all. For more than 25 years, we have supported disabled people and older people to use technology to achieve their goals at home, in education and at work. Alongside our charitable services, we work with employers, public bodies, education providers and businesses to make digital products, services and workplaces more accessible and inclusive.
We are now seeking an exceptional Chief Commercial Officer to lead the next stage of growth and transformation across our commercial services.
This is a pivotal appointment. Reporting to the Chief Executive and operating as a member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Commercial Officer will lead and develop AbilityNet’s full commercial function, spanning commercial strategy, market insight, proposition development, marketing, sales, strategic partnerships, customer success and commercial delivery.
The opportunity is significant. Demand for digital accessibility and inclusive technology is growing rapidly, and AbilityNet has a trusted brand, deep expertise and a mission that matters. We are looking for a commercial leader who can bring clarity, structure and pace; align teams behind shared priorities; strengthen our external profile; and build a scalable, data-led commercial engine that increases income, partnerships and reach without adding unnecessary complexity.
This is not a conventional sales leadership role. We are looking for someone who can lead commercial transformation, develop new income streams, improve pipeline quality and forecasting, strengthen customer success, make better use of CRM and data, and create the systems and culture needed for sustainable growth. Just as importantly, they will understand how commercial performance and social impact reinforce one another.
Candidates will bring senior commercial leadership experience gained in a complex service environment. You may come from B2B services, consultancy, technology, digital, accessibility, professional services, social enterprise, charity trading or another purpose-led setting. Whatever your background, you will have a strong track record of delivering growth through scalable systems and operating models, aligning marketing, sales and delivery, and using data and technology to improve performance.
You will be strategic, practical, collaborative and values-led. You will be comfortable working across teams, building confidence and momentum, and acting as a credible external ambassador for AbilityNet. AbilityNet is committed to inclusion and welcomes applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
