FareShare is the UK’s leading charitable food redistributor, working to ensure that no good food goes to waste. Through our national network, we support approximately 8,500 charities and community groups, providing enough surplus food for nearly one million meals each week. This is an important moment to join us as we begin delivering a transformational new three‑year strategy following our merger with The Felix Project.

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Project Delivery to establish and lead our Project Delivery function, with a particular focus on Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) programmes. This role will play a central part in shaping and embedding Agile project management practices, strengthening organisational capability, and ensuring robust governance across our transformation portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of organisational projects and programmes, including DDaT initiatives, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, budget, timelines and quality.
  • Build and manage an effective Agile project delivery environment, including project prioritisation frameworks, change management, backlog management and roadmap planning.
  • Develop and embed best‑practice tools, templates, processes and training to enhance project capability across the organisation.
  • Establish governance structures to ensure transparent reporting, risk management, escalations and decision‑making.
  • Support business planning and work closely with Finance to align project and financial reporting.
  • Provide leadership across the DDaT function, collaborating with senior colleagues to communicate vision, priorities and progress.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including Executive and Board.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, modelling values‑driven and empowering leadership.

About You

  • Extensive experience establishing and leading PMOs and delivering complex transformation portfolios, ideally having delivered this within a DDaT team.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies and change management, with the ability to apply these pragmatically in a rapidly developing environment.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Significant experience leading high-performing teams, with strong people management and coaching skills.
  • A self-starter ready to get things done, with an ability to bring structure and clarity to evolving programmes.
  • Committed to FareShare’s mission and values.

Desirable: experience with project management software; relevant Agile, project or change management qualifications; understanding of the Not for Profit sector.

As an equal opportunities and Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from all backgrounds and will provide reasonable adjustments as required.
