The Role

We’re looking for a visionary Director of Data and AI to lead the Law Society toward data excellence.

In this innovative new role, working for a newly appointed Executive Director of Technology and Change, you’ll be the driving force behind a modern, robust data platform with responsibility for setting strategic direction, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of best practice.

You’ll oversee the full data lifecycle, from governance and architecture to advanced analytics and AI. Your leadership will shape how we harness data to generate insight, improve decision-making, and deliver meaningful impact across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide data and AI strategy in a complex, people centric organisation.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering modern data platforms, architectures, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to build, inspire, and mature high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of data quality, security, ethics, and responsible AI principles, ability to champion data throughout the leadership and wider teams
  • A track record of driving innovation and measurable business outcomes through data.
  • A true service led collaborator, with excellent stakeholder management skills, used to talking to non-technical staff and be able to influence at a senior level.
