We are delighted to be working with a charity, Gunnersbury Museum and Park Development Trust, who are aiming to appoint an interim Deputy CEO for a 6 month period.
Organisational Overview:
The Gunnersbury Estate is a vibrant 72-hectare Grade II* listed site with 22 listed buildings site and a NPO status museum at the centre of the park. A former Rothschild family private estate, Gunnersbury opened as a public park in 1926 and today attracts 1 million visitors per year.
A wide variety of services and activities are offered across the parkland, such as music concerts from well-known artists, cultural events, nature trails and various gardens to explore through to a large sports hub, 8 tennis courts, 3 cricket pitches and 2 full sized AGPs .
Later this year the park will see the unveiling a major new national memorial in the form of a sculpture by artist Michael Landy RA and planning is underway for the 2026 centenary . There is a masterplan for further large scale restoration of park.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of park management, commercial operations, organisational and culture development, and property management. The Deputy CEO will lead a relatively inexperienced team of 4 Heads of Service who cover estate management, museum services, commercial and finance. A key area of focus will be to instilling a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, supporting the team in areas such as prioritising workloads.
Your role will also be to support the CEO and deputise for them at board and committee meetings, as well as working closely to ensure income streams are diversified and there is an increase in profitability.
There are specific goals for this interim assignment which include working toward cost savings target for 25/26, reviewing the SOP’s and gaining board approval for the centenary programme.
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have a background in the Not for Profit sector previously, or potentially the public sector.
