The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is seeking an Honorary Treasurer to join its esteemed Board of Trustees. This role is essential for ensuring that IPEM maintains robust governance and complies with all financial legislation and best practices for charities.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to IPEM during a period of ambitious growth, with plans set for the next five years.
The Honorary Treasurer will chair the Finance and Business Planning Committee (F&BP), which convenes four times a year, typically online. Additionally, the Treasurer will serve as a Trustee and Director of IPEM, participating in four Board meetings annually—two in York and two in London.
The Honorary Treasurer is also an ex officio member of the Board of IPEM Enterprises Ltd, IPEM’s wholly owned trading subsidiary, which meets three times a year, generally via teleconference. Furthermore, the Treasurer will chair the IPEM Remuneration Committee, which meets once annually by teleconference.
IPEM expects a commitment of 12 to 15 days per year, with meetings scheduled during weekdays, 9 AM to 5 PM.
You do not need to be a member of IPEM, though it is essential you have either senior voluntary sector finance experience, or you are a qualified accountant.
