Associate Non-Executive Director
Leicestershire – Northamptonshire
£13,000 / 3days per month minimum

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) have worked in a group arrangement since 2021. During that time, the Trusts have developed a range of initiatives, including talent management, quality improvement, innovation and research and more. Each organisation has embraced the opportunity to collaborate on projects to the benefit of staff and those they care for and work with. They are developing a group strategy that will be launched in April 2025.

Angela Hillery was appointed as joint CEO of both NHFT and LPT in 2019, and by April 2021, the relationship between both Trusts transitioned into a Group Model (Leicestershire Partnership & Northamptonshire Healthcare Associate University Group) with some shared Executives put in place. Crishni Waring became Joint Chair in 2023.

As a result of the continued development of this Group Model, there is an opportunity to appoint a joint Associate Non-Executive Director (NED). The Associate Non-Executive Director is aimed at potential Non-Executive Director candidates who have previous board-level experience but may not have worked within the NHS. As such, there is a developmental component to the opportunity, and the Board of both Trusts will support the successful candidate to bridge any knowledge gaps.

We are eager to hear from individuals from a wider range of backgrounds who understand how to oversee the development of a multi-site operation and who can think beyond organisational boundaries bringing high levels of personal and business integrity to ensure exemplary standards of quality, probity, and governance. Experience of working in a group operating model would also be desirable.

You must be able to demonstrate your own personal values as well as a track record of experience working in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders; drawing on your strong, all round communication skills and expertise.

NHFT and LPT celebrate multiple points of view, and we believe diversity drives innovation. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a track record in driving Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion related issues, together with the ability to demonstrate how you have challenged discrimination and inequality. You must evidence your ability to influence and persuade others, be committed to working as a team member and possess the motivation to improve NHS performance.

You must also complete the Fit & Proper Persons Declaration for this role, which can be accessed here

CLOSING DATE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS: Thursday 26 September 2024

Final panel interviews are due to be held on 18 November (remotely) and 19 November (remotely).
