Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board serves a growing population of over 1 million people living in areas from vibrant and diverse inner cities to rural communities and towns. Across the Integrated Care System our partners include 2 Local Authorities, 6 Councils, 4 Partner NHS Trusts, 120 GP Practices, 2 Healthwatch Organisations, 120 Dental Practices, 200 Pharmacies, 1 Ambulance Service and a thriving Voluntary and Community Sector.
Our vision as a System is to enable people to start well, live well and age well, promote independence and put people at the heart of everything we do. While we are already making real progress there is much more to be done to improve health outcomes in a challenging operating environment with significant financial, performance and workforce pressures. There are still significant health inequalities across Coventry and Warwickshire and a difference in live expectancy of 10 years between the most affluent and deprived communities.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic Board as it develops its strategy to improve outcomes in population health and care; tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access to services; enhance productivity and value for money; and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
As Chief Nursing Officer, you will work closely with the CEO, Board colleagues and our partners to deliver the ISC’s long-term strategy. Working with the Chief Medical Officer, you will have a crucial role in supporting our ambitions by leading the development and delivery of our clinical strategy, inspiring and influencing clinical and professional colleagues across Coventry and Warwickshire, reflecting and integrating the strategies of all partner organisations within the ICS.
Integrated Care Systems afford the opportunity to work in new ways and focus on collaboration and partnership, not losing sight of the imperative to improve population health whilst focusing on the immediate priorities of access to care, workforce and financial challenge. This is a highly complex role and requires an influential, solutions-oriented nurse leader with Board-level experience in the NHS or care sector. You will possess the ability to balance leading and empowering the nursing team in the ICB, with providing clinical and professional leadership across Coventry and Warwickshire to recognise and realise system-wide opportunities. You will be able to drive improvement in the quality of our services, with a key focus on population health and outcomes, and work with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief People Officer to develop meaningful clinical and professional workforce strategies ensuring future sustainability.
If you have the skills, experience, and passion for collaborative leadership, then this is your chance to shape the future health and care needs for communities across our population. As a senior leader you will champion equality, diversity, and inclusion based on the belief that the best Boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.
The ICB is actively working to achieve a diverse, gender balanced and representative workforce where diversity is actively valued and celebrated, including at board level. With this in mind we welcome applicants from all backgrounds to ensure that our Board reflects the diversity of our communities and encourages diversity of thought.
ALL applicants need to complete a fit and proper persons declaration as part of their application to the role. Please download the form here.
