Attractive Salary – East Grinstead / hybrid working

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH) is a specialist NHS trust providing life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation services for people across the South of England. The hospital specialises in conditions of the hands and eyes; head and neck cancer and skin cancer; reconstructive breast surgery; maxillofacial surgery; and prosthetics.  In addition, QVH provides a minor injuries unit, expert therapies, a sleep service, and other community-based services. Patients consistently rate QVH amongst the top hospitals in the country for quality of care.

QVH now wish to secure a permanent Chief Finance Officer (CFO), to provide strategic leadership and support of the finance function, ensuring that it serves the needs of clinical and non-clinical departments across the Trust, and works in collaboration with wider stakeholders across the system. The role will also involve developing and leading a modernisation programme for the Trust’s estate to ensure a consistently high quality and cost-effective environment for the delivery of healthcare services, which delivers future organisational strategy. Reporting to the Chief Executive, and working closely with the Board, you will help to formulate strategic planning and decision-making, which will be pivotal to the successful achievement of the Trust’s strategic objectives and annual budget.

The successful applicant will be able to easily demonstrate a strong strategic capability and way of thinking as well as evidence their strong leadership and relationship building skills. Experience of continuous process improvement would be desirable as well as the ability to add value through establishing key financial controls. Ideally you will bring some NHS experience or will have worked in closely related fields. Whether you are a current director seeking a new challenge, or an experienced deputy looking to make that step up, this role would provide you with a real opportunity to help identify and drive the future direction of QVH. You will be a collaborative team player with the expertise to drive change and ensure the finance function is an enabler of world-class care.
